New Lianhua International Travel Group was founded in 1994 in Vancouver, Canada by Ms. Zeng Zhiying, a former lecturer in marketing and business management at Lingdong Technical College in Taiwan, who had recently immigrated to Canada.

While Ms. Zeng’s motivation for establishing New Lianhua International Travel Group was simple, the opportunity that inspired it was rather unique.
​
Her motivation stemmed from the slower pace of immigrant life—she hoped to engage in something meaningful to make the most of her time. The opportunity arose unexpectedly during a group trip organized by several families. Out of compassion, she gave a slightly larger tip to a tour guide who others had deemed incompetent. This small act of kindness opened an unforeseen door—an opportunity to start a travel company in a foreign land, unfamiliar in both language and environment.

What began as a small endeavor gradually expanded—growing from humble origins into a larger enterprise, evolving from isolated points to connected lines and networks. Transitioning from traditional, regionally focused operations, New Lianhua is now embracing technological advancement, expanding its global reach, and steadily progressing toward becoming a world-class travel brand.
​​Based in Vancouver, New Lianhua is positioned as a hub for global development. In addition to establishing several directly operated branches throughout the Vancouver area, the company has transformed its headquarters into one of the largest ticketing centers in Canada, supplying tickets to over 100 small and medium-sized travel agencies nationwide.

Beyond Vancouver, branches have also been opened in Toronto, Los Angeles, Taipei, and Beijing. The company’s direct and closely connected service network now extends across Asia—including Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam—as well as Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America, and Dubai.

Initially, New Lianhua relied on traditional media such as radio, television, newspapers, magazines, and word-of-mouth to grow its presence. But beginning in 2016, the company entered a new era of digital marketing. By blending tradition with innovation, New Lianhua is embracing a leap forward—reimagining travel services through the lens of modern technology. The company aims to go beyond tourism, offering a diverse suite of services that integrate travel with history, culture, education, knowledge, and cross-cultural communication, enhanced by the latest in information technology.

About Us
Many people are curious about the name Xinlianhua.
In fact, some travelers from mainland China often refer to it as Xinhualian, perhaps confusing it with a well-known corporation in China. But the true meaning of Xinlianhua—literally “New Lotus Heart”—is rooted in something much more spiritual and deeply personal.

When New Lianhua International Travel Group was founded, Ms. Zeng Zhiying and her husband's family were all devout Buddhists. She and her husband firmly believed that the intention behind any venture is of utmost importance. For Buddhists, to start a business is to serve others, and one must do so with a pure and compassionate heart.​
Thus, the name Xinlianhua was born—symbolizing a “lotus in the heart.” The lotus, in Buddhist thought, represents purity, selflessness, and the aspiration to benefit all living beings. This spirit of sincerity, honesty, and dedication has become the foundation of New Lianhua's philosophy: to serve society and humanity with unwavering integrity.
